Dental Implants - Implants are similar in size and shape to your tooth root’s original shape. Made of Titanium for strength and compatibility, restorations can be placed over the implant that function and look like your natural teeth. There must be adequate bone present for this restoration to be placed. Sometimes augmentation procedures can be used to allow the use of dental implants. In many cases this is the best way to replace missing teeth.

Bridges - These restorations are used to replace missing teeth by using adjacent teeth as support for a pontic (replacement) tooth. By replacing the missing teeth, the function and esthetics of the mouth can be restored.

Dentures – Full dentures are used when all teeth are missing. Commonly called ‘plates’, they allow for replacement of the missing teeth, allowing proper chewing and restoring the smile. Sometimes implants can be placed to the bone structure to greatly aid in the function and retention of full dentures.

Partial Dentures - A partial denture is a removable appliance that uses the remaining natural teeth for support. It is easily placed and removed from the mouth by the patient.

Root Canals (Endodontics) - The nerves and blood vessels within the teeth can become diseased as a result of trauma, decay, or extensive restoration. A root canal is simply the removal of the diseased tissue inside the tooth, followed by disinfecting and sealing the space with a compatible material. Teeth having root canals often need crowns to protect them from breaking.

Periodontal Treatments - Periodontitis, commonly called gum disease, is prevalent in an estimated 80% of the adult population. It is the most common reason for tooth loss in adults. Periodontitis is caused by bacteria that naturally live in our mouths. Without preventive care, these bacteria can produce chemicals that attack the gum and eat away the underlying bone. Similar to high blood pressure, there often are no noticeable symptoms until late in the disease process. By this time often tooth loss may be inevitable. Early detection and treatment greatly decrease the risk of tooth loss. As with most disease processes, a healthy lifestyle and nutritious diet also increases chances for successful treatment.
